Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the concentration of the Armed Forces of Armenia near the line of contact in the Karabakh conflict zone. He considers this to be a preparation for war by Armenia.
He said this in an interview with various Azerbaijani television channels.
In his words, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan deliberately carries out various provocations to exacerbate the Karabakh conflict.
“Armenia is carrying out illegal settlements (in Nagorno-Karabakh – ed.). This contradicts all international conventions. This completely contradicts the Geneva Convention, this is a crime. Bringing people from somewhere and settling in the occupied lands is a crime, “Aliyev said.
He added that one of the reasons for the July confrontation between the countries in the zone of territorial conflict was an attempt by Armenia to probe the reaction of its allies in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
“Because they (the Armenians – ed.) Are preparing for a new great war. We have operational intelligence. We know what is happening around us. We know it and we must know it. Our special services work very effectively, said the president. from Azerbaijan.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the United Nations is concerned about the current tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The UN asked countries to show restraint.
