No truce in Nagorno-Karabakh – Pashinyan
The Armenian side accuses Azerbaijan of violating the agreements reached. Karabakh is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster, Pashinyan added.
There is no truce in Nagorno-Karabakh, a tense situation persists in the southern direction of the front. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this, News.am reports on Monday, October 12.
Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire when it attacked the city of Hadrut “immediately after the ceasefire went into effect,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, there are battles in the Hadrut area, the Karabakh defense army is carrying out an operation against Azerbaijani sabotage groups.
Pashinyan stressed that Nagorno-Karabakh is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe and that the only way to avoid it is to recognize the people’s right “to self-determination until the recognition of independence,” the politician said.
Aliyev previously said that Baku took control of several settlements in Karabakh. Azerbaijani troops did not enter some settlements, as from a military point of view, this is not necessary, said Ilham Aliyev.
At the same time, Armenia named its losses. The Armenian side lost almost 500 soldiers in the battles, there were also deaths and injuries among the civilian population.
