According to updated data, during the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, 2,996 soldiers were killed this fall. The press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, told Armenpress news agency on Friday, December 11.

“The bodies of 2,996 military dead were subjected to a forensic examination. From the beginning of the war to the present, 1,816 DNA samples were taken from their relatives and 993 from the bodies of the dead. The body identification process based on the DNA continues, “said Nikoghosyan.

On the eve of the Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reported that 1,779 soldiers had died since the start of hostilities on September 27.

Previously, the Armenian Ministry of Health reported the death of 2,425 Armenian soldiers in Karabakh. And in Nagorno-Karabakh, around 1586 of its military.

In Azerbaijan, 2,783 of its soldiers have been reported killed.
