Apple just sent out invitations to the next big presentation on the highly anticipated next-generation iPhone. The show starts at 20:00 Kiev time.
The same date appeared in several unofficial internal reports the day before. This time, the motto is the abstract phrase “Hello, speed”, which freely translated into Russian may sound like “Hello, speed” and a no less abstract image with overlapping circles with a gradient fill. Leaving aside the fortune-telling in the coffee grounds, we can be sure that this time around we will definitely be shown new iPhones.
The latest rumors indicate that Apple will extend the mini label to the iPhone lineup this year, and the 2020 5.4-inch iPhone model will be called the iPhone 12 mini. In addition to the iPhone 12 mini, three more models are expected in the 2020 iPhone lineup: the entry-level iPhone 12 with a 6.1-inch screen and two Pro versions (6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max). ).
According to preliminary data, all new iPhones in the 2020 lineup will receive an updated design with flat edges like the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models, OLED displays, 5nm SoC A14, support for 5G and more RAM. At the same time, recent reports have indicated that none of the iPhone 12 models will receive a ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and all will remain on 60Hz displays. Older iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max (11 Pro and 11 Pro Max counterparts) will feature a triple camera with lidar, while the younger ones will be equipped with dual cameras.
The new iPhones are also expected to have no headphones or power adapter in the box. Apple has previously removed the adapter from the new Watch smartwatch, making an exception only for the Watch Edition and Watch Hermès, which are more expensive.
Experts have previously reported multiple times that the 6.1-inch models will launch first in the second half of October, with the smaller and larger models joining them in November.
At the October 13 presentation, we should expect other announcements. The list of possible innovations that can be shown alongside the new iPhones includes the first MacBook models based on ARM processors of their own design, new AirPods, a more compact and affordable HomePod speaker, AirTags trackers and an AirPower charging station. .
