Today in Prague, protests by football and hockey ultras against quarantine restrictions turned into riots. The security forces were forced to use special means to disperse the protesters.

It is reported by the Czech edition “Czech Radio”.

To disperse the radical protesters who threw firecrackers and various objects, the security forces used gas and a water cannon. Several people were injured in the clashes, but the exact number is unknown.

The demonstration was started by supporters of one of the football clubs, who consider that the quarantine restrictions make no sense and are a consequence of the government’s lack of preparation for the second wave of coronavirus.

The Czech Minister of the Interior, Jan Hamacek, has already threatened the organizers of the action with prosecution, because they could not guarantee compliance with the anti-epidemic measures.

According to media reports, about 2,000 participants participated in the protest, while the government allows massive events with the participation of no more than 500 people. Most of the protesters did not wear masks.

We will remember, at the end of September, protests against the quarantine in Great Britain. There, the action also turned into clashes with the police.
