Serhiy Garmash, a Ukrainian journalist and ORDLO representative in the Trilateral Contact Group, spoke about the scandal that occurred during the TCG meeting on December 16 and “showed the failure of the OSCE as the moderator of the negotiations.”

On Facebook, Garmash wrote that during the meeting, the militants began to actively declare that they were the party to the conflict and a member of the TCG, and asked the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Leonid Kravchuk, provocative questions. The journalist offered to respond in his place, and Kravchuk delegated him the opportunity to explain the delegation’s position.

«I have just started quoting excerpts from the Minsk documents, where it is clearly stated who the members of the TCG are, a party to the conflict and a party to the negotiations … I was ready for a professional and well reasoned discussion based on documents and international right. But in response, people who were paid in Russian rubles began to compete to shout “who is he?” … Certain gentleman [Алексей] Nikonorov, brother of the “minister” Nikonorova, a whole “head of administration, head of the DPR” … he called me a bad word, that an honest person can only use if he holds a candle or if he himself participates in my downfall ” Garmash said.

He stressed that the representative of the OSCE chairman in the TCG, Heidi Grau, first tried not to give the floor to a member of the Ukrainian delegation, and then did not react to Garmash’s insult, did not give him a chance to finish. According to the journalist, this incident showed that the OSCE cannot be the moderator of the negotiations.

«I see this as an attempt by the OSCE to remove 1.5 million displaced people from the discussion about the Donbass model of the future and thus create an arena for future conflict between displaced people and people whose brains are being washed daily by Russian propaganda … As a result «pro-Russian moderation of OSCE negotiations, dialogue between Donbass residents within the TCG is simply impossible. Because dialogue is impossible between «ministers “and” who are they? “- Garmash wrote.

The journalist stressed that he expects a reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and an apology from the OSCE, the Russian delegation and Nikonorov.

Earlier, Sergei Garmash said that at the TCG meeting on December 16, Russia continued to block the prisoner exchange process, demanding a procedural authorization of nine people that Ukraine transferred during the last exchange.

During the meeting, Leonid Kravchuk called on Russia to abide by the agreements reached at the Normandy summit in Paris in 2019 and to assume political responsibility.
