Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said that all those detained in the case of the terrorist attack in Vienna have a “migration background”.
Among those arrested, suspected of being involved in the Vienna terrorist attack, are citizens of Russia and other countries. This was stated by the head of the Austrian capital, Gerhard Pürstl, reports Die Presse.
In total, the Austrian police arrested 14 people between the ages of 18 and 28 on suspicion of involvement in the terrorist attack.
“Some of them have citizenship of other countries, including Bangladesh, Macedonia, Turkey and Russia,” the Vienna police chief said.

The terrorist attack in the center of Vienna took place on the night of November 2. They shot in six locations, including near the synagogue on Schwedenplatz. Eyewitnesses said they heard at least 50 shots.
Nehammer claimed that at least one other attacker was on the run. The media reported on the arrest of four suspects. On November 3, a suspect in the attack was arrested in northern Austria.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz called the incident “a terrible terrorist attack”. According to him, the republic is going through “difficult times.” After the terrorist attack, the country decided to close synagogues, kosher restaurants, Jewish supermarkets, and schools.
On November 3, the Islamic State terrorist group announced that it was involved in this event.
According to updated data, as a result of the terrorist attack in Vienna, 22 people were injured, five died.
