Moderna will produce 20 million doses of vaccines by the end of the year, but a small part will be available for Europe. At the same time, he indicated that the company will sign a contract with the European Commission on the supply of vaccines within a few days. One of the negotiating points between the parties was the payment for reserving the vaccine.
Bansel praised the filing of an application with the US Food and Drug Administration by Moderna’s competitors, the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the German Biontech, for the use of its BNT162b2 coronavirus vaccine in an emergency. Moderna’s goal was never to “cross the finish line first,” but to bring a good vaccine to market, he said.
