Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the seizure of the state border with Iran under full control.
In his words, the Azerbaijani army took control of 21 more settlements, including Agbyand, the last settlement on the Iran-Azerbaijan border before the border with Armenia.
“With the liberation of the village of Aghbyand, full control over the state border of Azerbaijan and Iran has been secured,” Aliyev said in Twitter.
Recall that on October 20, Ilham Aliyev announced the capture of the city of Zangelan and 24 other villages by the Azerbaijani army.
Azerbaijan previously announced the “liberation” of Jabrayil, which since 1993 was under the control of the unknown Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Baku took control and changed the town’s name to Madagiz.
Large-scale hostilities between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops on the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh resumed on the night of September 27.
Azerbaijan and Armenia introduced martial law and announced the mobilization of the reserve.
Both countries blame each other for the escalation of the conflict and report combat and civilian casualties. According to Baku and Yerevan, the enemy uses heavy weapons and mercenaries.
