Alexandria had no special moments in attack, except for the last minutes ᐉ UA-Football

Mircea Lucescu, Dynamo coach, commented victory of their players over “Alexandria” in the match of the 7th UPL.

– Why is there such a difference between the first 15 minutes of the game and the rest of the game?

– We started very well, we could have scored the second and third goals. Everything was too easy and our players missed those moments. Probably, they thought that this would be the case in the future … Then they relaxed, they felt that the game was easy and the opponent took courage, he felt confident. It is true that “Alexandria” had no special moments in attack, except for the last minutes. In addition, in the second half, the boys felt the accumulated fatigue, lately they played many games for both the club and the national team. We had little time to recover. But victory is victory and it gives us positive emotions to prepare for the Budapest match against Ferencváros.

– Comment on the substitutions you made during the game.

– These replacements were planned, I distributed the playing time for the players. Someone played more, someone less, someone played better, someone worse … I usually discuss these moments with the players in the locker room.

– When can we expect newcomers to appear on the field – Clayton, Kostevich, Baluta?

– We have 25 outfield players. And they must be prepared to replace those who play at any time. Clayton arrived without playing for a long time and needed to improve his form of play. I can tell that it improves with every workout. But at the moment his level still does not allow him to play in the games we have. The same applies to Baluta: he did not play for his club, he only trained and needs time to adjust.

Unfortunately, there are so few players at our disposal during national team matches that we cannot have sparring sessions to see these players in them. And at this stage, playing with that rhythm, I cannot take responsibility and change many players, putting newcomers in the composition. It takes time to adapt them.

I repeat, we have many players in our team, 25 outfield players. They are all important to me. Yesterday a large group was supposed to play for the shot. But we decided not to risk them so that they would not contract the coronavirus on the eve of the Champions League match. All players are important to me.

– Do you consider it fair to eliminate Shaparenko?

– I do not know what to say. The judge was there and then he went to see the VAR. Why do this if he was there and saw it all? I find it difficult to answer this question.
