The level of pollution of the Salgir, the longest river in Crimea, is a thousand times higher than the norm. The occupation authorities are asking the federal government to help with the construction of a sewage treatment plant.
This was stated by the so-called “boss” of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, annually 70 thousand cubic meters of wastewater are discharged into Salgir. In this regard, it is planned to install treatment facilities in Ukromnoye.
“There are questions, because the sewage treatment system is different and the pollution within Simferopol along Salgir is 1000 times higher than the norm according to some indicators,” Aksenov said.
He also noted that the option of supplying Salgir water to the northern Crimean canal with a transfer to the Mizhgornoe reservoir is being considered.
We recall that the occupied Crimea is experiencing problems with the water supply due to the drought of rivers and reservoirs. In September, restrictions on the water supply were introduced in Alushta, Partenit and Maly Mayak.
Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Serhiy Kislitsa, said that if the Russian Federation wants Ukraine to supply water to Crimea, it should ask about it and recognize itself as an occupier.
