What is known about the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine developed by the American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and the German biotechnology company BioNTech has shown an efficiency of 95%.

The UK became the first country in the world to approve a vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech for widespread use. The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine. This is enough to vaccinate 20 million people; each should receive two vaccinations.

The first person in the world to receive a coronavirus vaccine outside of clinical trials was Margaret Keenan, a 90-year-old resident of Northern Ireland.

Mass vaccination against the coronavirus began in the United States on December 14. The first Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine was received by a New York nurse named Sandra.
