Acura will unveil a new TLX this summer, and the TLX Type S will appear in early 2021.
The new Acura TLX is one of the most anticipated cars of the Japanese luxury brand.
Responsibility for increased interest in the Acura midsize sedan rests with the “sensual” Acura Type S concept, unveiled at Pebble Beach in August 2019.
An elegant prototype demonstrated the normal version of the TLX and Type S TLX, and in particular most of the appearance of the Type S concept will be preserved in the new TLX and especially in the Type S TLX. These patent images leave no doubts about.
What we see in these official images is very likely to be the normal model year of the Acura TLX 2021, because it lacks typical Type S elements, such as an overly aggressive front bumper with large air intakes, a rear diffuser with four exhausts and a spoiler. Despite this, it looks quite sporty while maintaining a sleek look and proportion.

Although there is not much official information about the new TLX and TLX Type S, it is known that both will be backed by a new platform specially developed for them. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Honda Accord gasoline unit is expected to become the base engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive will be standard, but the AWD option will also be available.
As for the high-end version of the Acura TLX Type S, the power is expected to come from a completely new two-cylinder V6 engine with significantly more power than the naturally aspirated 290-hp 3.5-liter V6 TLX. and 361 Nm of torque. AWD will be standard on type S.
