Self-immolation in Kherson
Police establish the identity of the man who tried to commit the act of self-immolation and identify witnesses to the incident.
In Kherson, a man set himself on fire near the building of the regional administration of the State Geocadastre. The police are verifying information on the fact of the self-immolation. This was reported by the press service of the police of the Kherson region.
“The police continue to carry out a complex of investigative actions to verify information on the attempted self-immolation of an unknown person near the building of the regional administration of the state Geocadastre,” the statement read.
The police clarified that the police did not receive statements from the victim or other people about this fact.
“To verify this information, law enforcement officers called all the hospitals, but the man with thermal burns did not show up there. The police also interviewed employees of the State Department of Geocadastre, however, none of them saw the act of self-immolation by an unknown man and has no information on this fact, ”said the police.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of article 120 Leading to suicide of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The police continue to carry out investigative actions to establish the identity of this person, witnesses to the self-immolation and other circumstances of the incident.
