According to him, preclinical tests on animals were successful.
“If our expectations come true and the actually selected manufacturer is ready for production according to the international standard, I think that in three months we will be ready for the first phase,” said Favorov.
He clarified that after discussions with the government about the transition to the clinical phase, the documentation on the development of the vaccine will be transferred to the World Health Organization.
“As of today, since we receive only a preclinical phase, the Ukrainian government has not made a decision, no special discussions have been held. But as soon as the site is selected, no doubt, all documentation will be submitted to WHO. “, He said.
Favorov specified that the clinical phase will be developed in several stages with the participation of volunteers, after which conclusions will be drawn on the safety and efficacy of the drug.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Health said that it does not intend to buy or receive Russian coronavirus vaccines as they have not been registered in the EU, US, Canada, Australia.
