Yesterday a fire broke out in a train car on the territory of the “Center for mechanization of track works”, which is a structural subdivision of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, reported the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations.
In the Poltava region, on the territory of the “Ukrzaliznytsia” structural unit, a train car caught fire, two people were killed. This was reported in the press center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on December 26.
According to rescuers, the message about the carriage fire on the street of the Gorky village of Kopyly, Poltava region, was received on December 25 at 8:56 p.m. The fire broke out on the territory of production “Center for mechanization of track works”, which is part of “Ukrzaliznytsya”.
The fire was located at 22.58 and was extinguished at 0.27. Due to the strong smoke, rescuers worked on respiratory protection devices. During the liquidation of the fire, they found the bodies of two citizens without signs of life, according to the report.
The fire destroyed the interior equipment, the lining of the walls and the roof of the car. The fire was extinguished by eight rescuers and three teams.
