A third of the miners in Kryvyi Rih stopped protests

Some miners have been underground for almost a week.

Some of the miners from the four mines stopped protesting and surfaced, but most remain underground.

In Kryvyi Rih, 262 miners continue to strike underground, 131 miners have surfaced, the chairman of the Independent Union of Miners, Mikhail Volynets, said on Facebook on Wednesday.

“At 9:00 am, 262 miners continue to protest underground in the mines of the Krivoy Rog iron ore plant. 30 – Zhovtneva, 86 – Batkivshchyna, 57 – Ternovskaya, 89 – Guards,” he said.

Negotiations are scheduled today between a delegation of protesters and representatives of the company’s administration.

A demonstration in support of the participants in the underground protest started at 10:00 in the square near the KZHRK administrative building.
