Suspect Radik Tagirov was wanted for 9 years

In the Russian city of Kazan, law enforcement officials have arrested Russia’s most wanted criminal, known as the Volga maniac. According to the investigation, at least 25 single women of the same age became the man’s victims, the Russian media write.
The suspect, Radik Tagirov, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, December 1 in Kazan at the apartment of his de facto wife. Tagirov was previously convicted of theft and robbery, as well as illegal transportation of weapons.
It should be noted that Tagirov was calculated based on the results of a genetic test.
The detainee, a source told KazanFirst, “admits guilt, cries.”
A series of murders of unmarried elderly women took place between March 2011 and September 2012 in Tatarstan and other regions of the Volga region. The retirees were strangled. The man reportedly entered the apartments of his victims disguised as a public service worker or social worker.
In the apartment, the offender always wore gloves, and after the murder he sprayed the floor with cleaning agent to get the police dogs out of the way.
The “Volga maniac” is credited with between 19 and 32 murders.
It was also reported that the murder of a business couple in the Odessa region was revealed. Police verified the victims’ personnel and associations and located the suspect in the murder.
