A suspect in the murder of a 7-year-old girl was arrested in the Kherson region

The man attempted suicide by cutting his wrists. The police rescued him and arrested him.

In the Kherson region, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of raping and murdering seven-year-old Maria Borisova. This was announced on Sunday night, March 14, by the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Igor Klimenko, on Facebook.

According to him, the attacker, like his victim, is a resident of the village of Schastlivoe, Aleshkovsky district.

“It was immediately clear that the body was dumped by someone from the premises. Because the unfinished abandoned (the shed in which the girl’s body was found) was searched more than once,” Klimenko wrote.

When police arrived at the suspect’s home to arrest him, they saw a 52-year-old man with severed veins. The aggressor was rescued and detained, reported the head of the National Police.

We will remember, the schoolgirl Maria Borisova disappeared on March 7. Law enforcement officers, including dog handlers and volunteers, were involved in the search for the girl.

Masha’s body without signs of life was found four days later in a barn in the village territory. He showed signs of rape and strangulation.
