A student who relieved his need in the Alley of Heroes of the Hundred Celestials in Kiev was expelled from the university.

On October 23, the rector of the State University of Telecommunications, Volodymyr Tolubko, signed an expulsion order for third-year student Illarion Borisenko, said Anton Gerashchenko, deputy head of Ukraine’s Interior Ministry.

Illarion Borisenko, a third-year student at the State University of Telecommunications, was expelled from the university after desecrating the monument to the heroes of the Hundred Celestials. This was announced on Facebook by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko.

University rector Vladimir Tolubko signed the corresponding order No. 03-88 on October 23, he said.

Ukrainian journalist Yuri Butusov reported that Borisenko, 21, on the night of October 21, urinated on the portraits of the dead in the Alley of Heroes of the Hundred Celestials. The deputy director of the Interior Ministry showed a video in which a student expelled from the university says that he is ashamed of this fact.

Gerashchenko published a letter to the rector, in which he said that on the fact of the incident, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (vandalism). He called for disciplinary action against Borisenko.



The Alley of Heroes of the Hundred Celestials: in the past, part of Institutskaya Street in the center of Kiev, where in February 2014, during the Dignity Revolution, 48 people died. The alley was named after him in 2014. Most of it contains portraits of dead activists and commemorative posters.
