Lugansk region: fire in a mined area

According to the press service of Operation Joint Forces, in the Lugansk region, as of the morning of September 3, more than 1,000 hectares of territory were covered by fires.

«The nature of the occurrence of the combustion epicenters and the spread of the fire, according to preliminary estimates, indicates an intentional arson on the part of the enemy, ”said the JOS press center.

It was noted that the fire had already been extinguished in the Zaitsevo and Novolugansk area.

According to the head of the Lugansk civil-military administration, Sergei Gaidai, the fires started on September 2 in the Stanichno-Luhansk and Novoaydarsk districts, and simultaneously in several places.

Gaidai noted that due to the fact that the fires started at the contact line, it is impossible to use aircraft to extinguish them.

«There you can constantly hear the explosions of some type of ammunition or stretchers, mines. I mean, it is quite dangerous to work there. … In fact, it is even dangerous to approach some areas and it is impossible to bring equipment there, because we constantly hear explosions, “said the head of the civil-military administration.

Gaidai said that he himself heard one of these explosions when he arrived at Stanytsia Luganskaya together with the local police chief and the district chief, and about 50 meters from them, agents of the State Emergency Service were extinguishing the fire.

He added that the fire in Stanytsia Luhanska is already located, but in Lopaskino and Lobychevo the situation is more complicated.

«We have a “gschsnik” that suffered the rupture of some unknown object. He’s a little hurt. And two soldiers got burned“, – Gaidai also said.

According to Defense Minister Andrei Taran, one of the wounded soldiers is a company commander. Major Lieutenant Tokarev, who supervised the removal of equipment and weapons from the fire area, received burns on 48% of his body surface.… He was evacuated to the Dnieper for medical treatment. The OOS press service later reported that a fire of about 10 hectares was located between Stanytsia Luhanska and Bolotenny and that there was no danger of the fire spreading towards Stanytsia Luhanska.

According to his colleagues, he evacuated military equipment while putting out a fire approaching their positions. For some time the deceased soldier was considered missing.

As of the morning of September 3, it was learned that the fire destroyed 13 houses in the Lugansk region.

Kharkov region: town destroyed by fire

On September 2, large-scale fires started in the Kharkov region. They emerged in three districts at once: Dvurechansky, Chuguevsky, and Shevchenkovsky.

On the territory of the Dvurechansk forestry, the area of ​​the fire was 400 hectares, of which 100 hectares were the area of ​​the crown fire.

The village of Gorobievka, which borders the forest, immediately suffered from the fire: here the fire destroyed eight residential buildings and people were evacuated by bus.

Later it was learned that the fire spread to another settlement – Gryanikovka. The total area of ​​the fire increased to 500 hectares and the number of destroyed houses increased to 22.

They resettled 33 people because of the fire. One person went to hospital for poisoning with combustion products.

On September 2, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Aleksey Kucher said on his Facebook page that one settlement was completely destroyed by fire and two more had fire areas.

The media, citing the press service of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, wrote that the village of Gorobievka had completely burned down, there are fires in Gryanikovka and Kutkovka.

How the authorities react to the fires in the Lugansk and Kharkiv regions

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called an urgent meeting on September 2 due to the large-scale fires in the Kharkiv and Lugansk regions.

«I demand quick reactions to such events. If necessary, we must organize the evacuation of all people, think first of their safety. Every effort should be made for early containment and extinction. In addition, we should already think about the allocation of funds to cover losses. Not later, but now, ”said the president at this meeting.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced that Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Reznikov, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Defense Minister Andrei Taran and Social Policy Minister Maria Lazebnaya would fly to the scene of the fires.

According to the head of government, the ministers and the deputy prime minister «prompt response, evaluating the situation and taking the necessary decisions to guarantee security ”and will report to President Volodymyr Zelensky from the scene.
