The Ministry of Infrastructure launches today, September 22, a pilot project to introduce a single electronic ticket for different SmartTicket modes of transport.
As a UNIAN correspondent reports, this was announced by Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy at the Digital Infrastructure Day forum in Kiev.

“Today we are officially launching a pilot project of a unified SmartTicket digital ticket … It will allow not to go to different places to buy plane, bus, train tickets, but to have everything in one place in a few clicks,” said Krikliy .

In the first stage, this ticket will be available for long-distance national trains and Kiev city e-tickets.
SkyUp and Gunsel Lines
A single SmartTicket e-ticket will be available in November for SkyUp and Gunsel Lines, as well as Ukrzaliznytsia suburban trains.
“In November, together with SkyUp and Gunsel Lines, we will start with a single electronic ticket for air travel and passenger bus transportation, as well as for the Ukrzaliznytsia commuter trains. In December, we started cooperation with Bolt, “Krikliy noted on the Telegram channel.

“Tickets can be purchased on the e- transport portal e-transport.gov.ua and on SmartTicket.gov.ua,” Krikliy said.
Price of admission
The cost of a single ticket will be equal to the cost of individual tickets, but the ministry is finalizing the so-called economic component of the service.
A loyalty program is planned: discounts, accumulation of distances, etc.
In which cities will the ticket work?
Now a pass for all types of public transport is valid in cities such as Kiev, Kharkov and Dnipro. Krykliy assured that by the end of the year the service will be available in all metropolitan transport, in the Kharkiv, Mariupol and Lviv region. Also, this applies to airline and bus companies. Within a month, all of Kiev’s municipal transport will be connected to Smart Ticket.
Chronology of events
- The authorities in the Ukrainian capital planned a complete transition of transport to an electronic ticket starting on November 1, 2019, but postponed this date to April 1, 2020.
- On June 2, 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure again announced the launch of a single electronic ticket for the metro and railway in Kiev.
- It was planned that, from July 1, Kiev will finally switch to an electronic ticket. It was reported that it will be possible to pay for public transport trips exclusively by methods other than cash. Also in the capital, since July, it was planned to partially change the rules of travel under favorable conditions in the city’s public transport.
- On July 1, 2020, the Mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, signed an order to postpone the full transition to a single e-ticket on the capital’s public transport until the end of the year.
- On July 29, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the launch of a single electronic ticket for various types of transport.
