On Tuesday, January 5, in Lviv, more than 1 ton of heroin was seized in Pakistan for 2.3 billion UAH.
Ukraine’s Attorney General Irina Venediktova announced this on her Facebook page. According to her, this is a record seized shipment of this drug. (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the story).
“Special lightning operation of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office together with the regional department of the SBU, GU BKOP SBU with the participation of the special unit” Alpha “: during a search in a warehouse in Lviv, more than 1 ton was seized of heroin. The drug was smuggled from Pakistan through the commercial sea port of Yuzhny, moved through the territory of Ukraine and was cleared by customs in Lviv under the guise of food “, – said in the note.
Venediktova added that the heroin was packaged at approximately 5 kg each and hidden in packets of rice.
As a result, law enforcement officers detained four Turkish citizens in a troubled location. Other people involved in drug trafficking are currently being identified.
The estimated cost of that batch of heroin on the “black market” exceeds 2.3 billion UAH. The drug was planned to be transported to EU countries under the guise of diplomatic cargo.
