On Monday, January 4, residents of the city of Lubny in the Poltava region held a protest action, which was associated with an increase in gas supply rates. Local residents blocked the Kiev-Kharkov highway and demanded that the price of gas be reduced.
This was reported by the press service of the regional police on Facebook.
At 10:15 am (Kiev time), protesters blocked the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway near the town of Zasulla. People moved through the crosswalk without creating obstacles to transportation. Law enforcement officers from the Lubensky Police Department worked at the scene.
In total, about 300 people took part in the action, including residents of the villages of Orzhitsky and Pyriatinsky districts. Judging by the photos released by law enforcement officers, the protesters wore masks, but not all kept a distance of 1.5 meters.
According to law enforcement officers, at 12:20 pm, the protest action ended and traffic on the road resumed.
