A new currency was introduced in Ukraine

A two-hryvnia coin was issued with a mintage of 35 thousand pieces. It is dedicated to the Ukrainian scientist Agafangel Krymsky.

The National Bank of Ukraine since Tuesday, January 12, is introducing a new commemorative coin in circulation. It is dedicated to the Ukrainian historian, Slavist, linguist, orientalist, writer, translator, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Agafangel Krymsky, reports the NBU press service.

It is observed that the coin is part of a series Outstanding personalities of Ukraine and it is the first commemorative coin of 2021.

The two hryvnia coin is made of nickel silver. Its circulation is 35 thousand pieces.

On the obverse of the coin there is a small coat of arms of Ukraine, a geometric decoration made of open books that fold into a star, a quote from Agafangel of Crimea.

It was previously reported that the National Bank put into circulation a coin in honor of the State Border Service. Denomination – UAH 10, circulation – one million pieces.
