A model to call on older people to get vaccinated against COVID will be tested in Ukraine

The test of the model will begin next week, announced the Ministry of Health after the visit of the vice minister to one of the hospitals.

The Health Ministry will test the recording and calling of older people for a coronavirus vaccine next week. This was stated by the state’s chief medical officer, Viktor Lyashko, on Facebook on Wednesday, December 16.

Lyashko announced the start of the recording test and requested vaccinations after a visit to one of the Boryspil hospitals.

“The information I heard from doctors has already formed the basis for a new draft order from the head of the emergency response. Next week we will test the COVID-19 vaccination registration / request model for seniors,” Lyashko said.

Shmyhal previously addressed the WHO about COVID vaccines. Ukraine expects a vaccine under the COVAX program in the first half of 2021, but would like to receive it faster.

Also, the Ministry of Health said that the COVID vaccination will begin in winter. The first vaccines will be purchased directly from the manufacturing companies and the COVAX vaccine is expected later.
