A harsh quarantine will be introduced in Ukraine from January – Quarantine – Coronavirus

The strict quarantine in Ukraine will be introduced from the first days of January. Tough restrictions will be imposed for three weeks.

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said at a briefing.

According to him, the introduction of a strict quarantine in January will help to prepare for the seasonal jump in the incidence of influenza and unload Ukraine’s medical system as much as possible.

“Based on the medical indicators, we will propose a strict quarantine planned from the first days of January. The duration should be three weeks,” said the minister.

According to Stepanov, the maximum incidence of influenza in Ukraine is expected from January and throughout the month of February.

“Therefore, this period must be approached with minimal COVID incidence rates. Until we recommend introducing a strict quarantine until the end of December,” Stepanov added.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine, citing government sources, reported that an enhanced quarantine could be introduced in Ukraine from January 2 to 23. At the same time, we are not talking about a total lockdown.

Note that the other day, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that there will be no more weekend quarantine in Ukraine. At the same time, the government is developing a balanced solution to strengthen the quarantine in the country.

Furthermore, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the government will inform about the new restrictions 7 days before their introduction.

Recall that in Ukraine during the last day more than 15 thousand new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. Most of the new cases were confirmed in the Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Zaporozhye and Kiev regions
