A massive fire in the Beirut port area has spread to a warehouse where food aid is stored. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the International Committee of the Red Cross on Thursday, September 10.
He noted that due to the fire, the implementation of “humanitarian operations may be seriously interrupted.”
The fire broke out early Thursday in the port of the Lebanese capital. So far, no data has been reported on the victims of the fire. The authorities do not rule out that it is an arson.
Recall, on August 4 there was a powerful explosion in the port of Beirut, destroying a significant part of the city. According to the official version, 2,750 tons of saltpeter were detonated in the port.
After that, several more tons of ammonium nitrate were found in the port.
