In Zaporozhye, a soldier born in 1987 shot herself at a nuclear power plant. The reasons for what happened are being established.
On the territory of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, a soldier was shot dead at a security post. This was reported by local edition En News, the information was also confirmed to the agency “Ukrinform” in the police of the Zaporozhye region.
According to media reports, the incident occurred on the afternoon of March 2. A soldier born in 1987 died of a gunshot wound to the head caused by a service weapon from a Makarov pistol.
The woman served in military unit 3042 of the Ukrainian National Guard, which guards the nuclear power plant.
At the moment, all the necessary investigative steps are being carried out. A forensic laboratory is working on the scene, the reasons for what happened are being established.
In a comment to RBC-Ukraine, the police said that criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of art. 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The prequalification of the incident is suicide.
