A Pokrovsk resident in the Donetsk region said he was walking in a straight line because he wanted to shorten the road to Russia.

In the Kharkov region, border guards detained a drunk man who was trying to illegally cross the border from Ukraine to Russia. At the same time, the offender was wearing summer slippers. This was announced on Monday, October 26, according to the press service of the State Border Guard Service.

“The border guard detachment of the Dergachi department detained the offender in the area of ​​the town of Granov, not far from the border. The man was traveling in summer slippers, apparently forgetting to put on his shoes because he was drunk,” the message says. .

The detainee was a resident of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. The man explained that in this way he wanted to shorten the road to Russia. He had no documents except the internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

For an attempt to illegally cross the border, appropriate administrative materials were drawn up against the offender, the decision of which will be made by the court.

The border service recalled that as of March 1, 2020, citizens of Ukraine have the right to enter the territory of the Russian Federation only with foreign passports, and only at established checkpoints.
