Unique sarcophagi discovered in Egypt that have survived to this day
In Egypt, 14 sarcophagi were discovered that were buried 2,500 years ago. A unique find was revealed during archaeological excavations at the Sakkara necropolis south of Cairo.
Interestingly, the newly discovered cemetery is not the first in this location. In early September, 13 sarcophagi were found here, Sciencealert writes.
The photo shows that the wooden sarcophagi are perfectly preserved. The coffins carry hieroglyphs, as well as elegant and complex designs with burgundy and blue lines.

Scientists have already announced that they are ready to conduct further excavations at this site. They hope to find another treasure here and are almost certain that the last two finds are just the beginning.
The great necropolis of Saqqara is located approximately 16 km south of the famous pyramids of Giza. It is part of the ancient city of Memphis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is home to the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser.
