IN Komsomolsk Park Kerch broke a copy of the Kerch Bridge, the publication “Krym.Realii” reported on December 27.

Despite this, the bridge was not closed, people can still walk on it. The first cracks appeared in the structure in early fall of this year. The so-called head of the Kerch administration, Sergei Borozdin, argued that Stroygarant LLC, which installed this object, would take care of the repair, the newspaper writes.

Now traces of plastering work are visible under the copy of the bridge, and there are longitudinal gaps and cracks in the structure itself.

Russia began to build a bridge across the Kerch Strait after the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea. It was inaugurated in May 2018. June 30, 2020 Russia launched freight trains across Crimean bridge. A copy of this 55 meter long, 2.5 tonne bridge was installed in Kerch Park in the fall of 2019.

The Ukrainian authorities have described the bridge connecting the occupied peninsula and the Russian territory of Krasnodar as a threat to national security.

EU ambassadors approved the extension of sanctions for the construction of the Crimean bridge on September 28. The Council of the European Union updated the sanctions list on October 1.
