In an attempt to promote the Core i7-10700F, HP has shown that the Ryzen 7 3700X is better

HP today introduced new Omen desktop computers, including 10th-generation Intel Core models. These chips have yet to reach retail, and their reviews have yet to be released. That’s why we note that HP cited the Core i7-10700F benchmark results.

This processor has eight cores and sixteen threads. Its base frequency is 2.9 GHz, while the maximum frequency for one core in Turbo Boost Max 3.0 mode reaches 4.8 GHz. All eight cores can automatically accelerate to 4.6 GHz. To announce its new systems, HP tested this eight-core processor on the Omen 30L system, which was compared to the previous eight-core Core i7-9700F Omen Obelisk computer. The characteristics of the systems are presented in the next slide.

In terms of test results, the novelty is expected to outperform its predecessor, which lacked Hyper-Threading technology. The smallest 8% increase is seen in 3DMark Fire Strike, slightly more – 9% – the new chip added to PCMark 10, and finally, the largest increase is seen in Cinebench R20 – 26%. Actually, the last test was able to more successfully manage the presence of double the threads on the Core i7-10700F compared to the Core i7-9700F.

But if you compare the new Intel Core i7-10700F with an AMD solution, which for the same price of about $ 300 offers its Ryzen 7 3700X with eight cores and sixteen threads, the image is not so clear.

For example, in the 3DMark Fire Strike test, the Ryzen 7 3700X processor with the GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card generally shows results of approximately 23-24 thousand points (overall rating), which is clearly better than the Core i7-10700F in the HP Omen 30L system. In the PCMark 10 database, the AMD chip is characterized by average results of approximately 7000 points, that is, its performance is lower than that of the new Comet Lake-S family. But on the other hand, on the Cinebench R20, the Ryzen 7 3700X processor is capable of delivering over 4700 points, making it the winner in this hypothetical comparison.

Remember, tenth generation Intel Core processors (Comet Lake-S) should go on sale in the second half of this month.
