Indonesian police institute criminal investigation into Ukrainian death
To establish the cause of death, Indonesian police plan to perform an autopsy in the near future.
Two Ukrainian citizens who were found dead in one of the hotels on the island of Bali, Indonesia, were not found to have a coronavirus infection, said the Director of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergey Pogoreltsev. On Sunday, May 3, UNIAN reported.
“According to the hospital, where the bodies of the victims are located, testing for the presence of coronavirus infection in them gave a negative result,” said Pogoreltsev.
Upon the death of a married couple, Indonesian law enforcement agencies have begun criminal proceedings, an investigation is underway.
The case is under the control of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in Indonesia.
To establish the cause of death, the police plan to perform an autopsy in the near future.
It was previously reported that on the tourist island of Bali, in one of the hotels, the bodies of two Ukrainians, male and female, were found. Initially, a coronavirus was suspected in a dead partner.
