On Saturday, May 2, in the Chernivtsi region, another 73 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the laboratory, 31 of them in Chernivtsi. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the President of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Sergey Osachuk on Facebook.
In total, 376 PCR studies were performed today. During the last day, 41 people were hospitalized. 9 other residents of the region recovered today from COVID-19.
Therefore, the total number of infected people in the region since the first identified case is 1818 people.
Recall, as of the morning of April 2, in Ukraine, the number of those infected with the COVID-19 virus exceeded 11 thousand people. There were 11,411 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 279 were fatal, 1,498 patients recovered.
During the entire time of the pandemic in Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine wrote that 771 children, as well as 2,250 health workers, became ill with the coronavirus.
Previously it was reported that cities in Ukraine began to mitigate the quarantine, which was introduced into the country on March 12 in connection with the spread of the coronavirus. In particular, the Zhytomyr, Dnieper and Cherkassy authorities decided to relax the restrictions by opening markets, hairdressers and non-food stores.
