The Ukrainian Security Service in the Sumy region laid out the scheme of receiving bribes from border guards on the promise of not interfering with the border crossing during the quarantine. RBC-Ukraine reports on this matter with reference to the SBU press center.

Bribes were reportedly received at the Bachevsk International Checkpoint.

“Workers on one of the shifts, including customs officials and State Border Service officials, paid tribute to Ukrainian citizens traveling abroad in their own affairs, as well as in the opposite direction. For 2,000 hryvnias Of each private minibus, officials promised passengers to cross the state border unimpeded. Quarantine conditions, “says the preliminary version of the investigation.

According to operational information, border guards received up to 50,000 hryvnias of bribes per shift.

During the searches, the defendants also reportedly tried to get rid of evidence of illegal activities, including illegally obtained money.

“The problem is now being resolved with respect to notifying officials of the change of the suspected checkpoint and choosing a preventive measure,” the statement said.

A criminal case under part 3 of art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or improper gain of an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigation actions are ongoing.

We will recall, previously in Sumy, the SBU exposed the illegal manufacture and sale of counterfeit antiseptics to medical institutions in the region.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that 96 self-isolation violators have been identified on the Ukrainian border since the beginning of the quarantine.
