On the night of April 2-3, false information was spread on social media that active hostilities allegedly began in Lugansk, temporarily occupied by Russia.
Initially, the information about the bombing appeared in Russian and later on some Ukrainian Telegram channels. The information was collected by the Russian propaganda media, in particular RIA Novosti.
As proof of the “offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Lugansk”, the provocateurs published a video of the bombing, which turned out to be false.
As reported by an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Anatoly Shtefan (“Stirlitz”) on Telegram, a fragment of the audio track of another video, filmed in 2015, was superimposed on the video.
“In fact, there are no ‘fierce battles’ near Lugansk at the moment; this is a common provocation. Please respect information hygiene,” Stefan wrote.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, in Donbas, Russian mercenaries did not allow OSCE representatives to enter the checkpoints. They argued this from the fact that military exercises were allegedly held in some areas.
