In two of the three UPL matches of the day, the experts recorded important arbitration errors. Fortunately, they did not affect the outcome of the matches, but the uncertain work of the referees cannot but be noticed for the future. After all, mistakes can only be corrected with the awareness of these mistakes.
Commentary expert, former FIFA referee Miroslav Stupar.
- “Rukh” – “Zarya” 0: 2. Referee – Yuri Ivanov
– The moment with the fall of Kabaev in the third minute indicates that Ivanov either did not enter the game, or simply did not read the moment well. Zorya’s player entered the Ruh penalty area, kicked the ball to the right and the defender did not play the ball while sliding, but instead put an obstacle to the opponent in the form of a supporting foot. Kabaev fell, but Ivanov misread the moment. Obviously, I thought the Rukh defender played the ball. However, it is not.
The referee was in a good position, which adds weight to his mistake. It is a pity that assistant Skripka did not help the referee on the field, who saw this moment from the other side and was able to assess it better than Ivanov. But it did not happen. Evidence of poor teamwork.
- Desna – Olympic 2: 0. Referee – Alexander Shandor
– VAR would be a good help for the referee here. Sandor, having no experience, did not realize it in the 69th minute during “Desna’s” quick attack. The referee was slightly delayed in the episode and, finding himself in a not entirely successful position, he did not have time to change the role of attention, looking only at the right flank. While in the center Bezborodko wanted to put himself in a good position, and Veklyak interfered with him. I wouldn’t say Veklyak fouled, but he blocked the opponent’s movement somewhere. And then Bezborodko blatantly shook Veklyak away with his hand. The goal could not be counted. Maybe he was even lured in by the red card. But Sandor did not stop the game and counted the second goal for Olimpik.
