Representatives of at least 5 NATO member states will participate in the Ukrainian-British exercise “Cossack Mace – 2021” (Cossack Mace – 2021).
As reported on Facebook by the Public Relations Service of the Vostok Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the main conference on planning of Ukrainian-British command and personnel exercises with the participation of troops “Kozak Mays – 2021”, which will take place in a few months, has ended in the Mykolaiv region.

Colonel Vitaly Negodenko, head of the multinational exercises department of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is chairing the conference, noted that during the weekly planning all major tasks were successfully completed.
In particular, a reconnaissance of the area was carried out, exercise scenarios and interaction mechanisms were developed in detail between the headquarters and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the participating countries.
Overall, Kozak Mace 2021, which is scheduled to involve representatives of at least 5 NATO member states and participants in the Partnership for Peace program, will be attended by more than 1,000 military personnel.
The operational-strategic background of the exercise takes into account the probabilistic nature of the development of the political-military situation in Ukraine. According to the scenario of the exercise, the headquarters and units of the multinational brigade are involved in repelling a large-scale offensive by the armed forces of the conditional aggressor country.
In particular, defense actions will be carried out with the subsequent transition to the offensive in order to restore the state border and the territorial integrity of the State, which has been the object of aggression by one of the hostile neighboring countries.
Another important task of this international exercise is to continue improving the capabilities of the interservice training center for military units and subunits in order to guarantee the conduct of large-scale international exercises, which are the main and effective tool to continue improving the compatibility of the Forces The armies of Ukraine and the armies of the NATO member states.
What preceded it
On February 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved a plan for the admission of foreign military personnel to Ukraine in 2021 to participate in international military exercises.
