AstraZeneca has received 18.1 million vaccines in the UK
At the same time, the presence or absence of a connection between vaccination and blood clot formation in vaccinated Britons is not reported.
The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Administration (MHRA) studied 30 cases of blood clots in citizens who were vaccinated against COVID-19 with AstraZeneca. This is stated in the regulator’s report, published on Thursday, April 1.
“As part of our review, a detailed analysis of 30 reports of blood clot formation with low platelet count, received by us before March 24 inclusive, was carried out,” the document states.
At the same time, the presence or absence of a connection between vaccination and blood clot formation in vaccinated Britons is not reported. However, the department noted that there were no such reports regarding the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine.
“The benefits of COVID-19 vaccines still outweigh any potential risks,” the regulator said.
As of March 24, 18.1 million doses of AstraZeneca had been administered in the country, according to the MHRA.
Recall that in Germany, in the context of the detection of thrombosis in residents vaccinated with AstraZeneca in the age group under 60 years, the authorities allowed only citizens of category 60+ to be vaccinated against the coronavirus with this drug.
