The State Department prepares new sanctions against Russia
Russia’s aggressive behavior is a major source of concern for the United States and its NATO allies.
The United States of America intends to expand sanctions against Russia, whose aggressive behavior is a key problem for both the United States and the NATO alliance, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with CNN.
Blinken said the administration “will take the necessary action at a time and place of choice.”
However, he declined to provide specific details.
Blinken also said that the United States intends to “intensify” sanctions on the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and has already warned Germany about this.
Nord Stream 2 is a 1,234 km long gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea.
Recall that US President Joe Biden said on March 17 that he considers Russian leader Vladimir Putin a murderer. He also said that he would pay for Russian interference in the American elections.
