If their demands are ignored, Ratushny plans to go to court and demand compensation for non-pecuniary damage.
Ratushny also claimed that the prosecution of him for participating in the action near the Office of the President is revenge for his activities to protect Protasovy Yar from illegal development. According to the activist, the suspicion was “pushed” by the OP’s deputy chief, Andrei Smirnov.
In Kiev, on March 20, a rally in support of Sternenko was held near the President’s Office. Sternenko was found guilty on February 23 in the kidnapping case of the former deputy of the Comintern district council of the Odessa region, Sergei Shcherbich. He was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison with the detention of half of his assets. Another person involved in the case, Ruslan Demchuk, received the same term. Both were arrested in the courtroom. The case in which Sternenko appears has been under investigation since 2015. He and Demchuk were arrested, but later released on bail. Sternenko denies any involvement in the incident.
