The Ministry of Justice invites prison guards to “make friends” with prisoners and play table tennis or soccer with them.

Ukrainian prison guards can begin to perform re-socialization functions and at the same time have friendly relations with prisoners. This will make it possible, in particular, to control aggression or the outbreak of conflicts. Justice Minister Denis Malyuska said this in an interview with Ukrainian News.

“We want to change the functionality so that workers are no longer mere guards, but also perform the function of re-socialization, the so-called” dynamic security. ” It means that the workers are in the colony and can play table tennis or soccer, constantly They move within the communities of prisoners and have semi-friendly relations with them, if everything proceeds normally, but at the same time they monitor what happens inside, ”said the minister.

Malyuska is sure that, on the one hand, this will help the prisoners to adapt to life in the new community, and on the other hand, the guards will be able to control possible aggressions or escalating conflicts and at the same time will be able to prevent tragedy.

In addition, according to the Minister of Justice, the department has introduced a prisoner registry that analyzes the risk of committing a second crime.
