The EU explained the failure of the coronavirus vaccination

The EC has ordered a total of at least 1.4 billion doses of four different coronavirus vaccines.

European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans acknowledged the flaws in the European Union’s coronavirus vaccination strategy.

“It is true that both Brussels and the EU member states made mistakes when ordering vaccines,” Timmermans said in an interview with Tagesspiegel am Sonntag published on Sunday, March 14.

In short, he said, it will be possible only when the pandemic comes to an end: “Then we can see what we did wrong and what was right.”

In the current situation, the most important thing is that “the vaccine is received throughout Europe,” continued Timmermans.

The EU extends the blockade. Why the vaccine doesn’t work

The European Commission has ordered a total of at least 1.4 billion doses of four different coronavirus vaccines approved for use in the EU, more than enough for an estimated 450 million Europeans.

However, the European Commission was criticized, in particular, it was accused of indecision and strategic errors when ordering vaccines. Some European countries believe that vaccine doses have been unfairly distributed among EU members.
