Ukraine’s Minister of Social Policy Marina Lazebnaya said she had developed a system according to which the Pension Fund deficit would not increase and pensions, according to preliminary calculations, could be increased.
The Ministry of Social Policy is working to increase average pensions in Ukraine by one and a half to three times. This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy, Marina Lazebnaya, during a meeting with the president of Ukraine, says the president’s office.
Lazebnaya pointed out that in the approach to the provision of pensions it is necessary, first of all, to change the philosophy: not only the state provides a person, but also the citizen accumulates for his pension. The minister has developed a system under which the deficit of the Pension Fund will not grow and pensions, according to preliminary calculations, may increase.
“The average pension will increase from 3.5 thousand UAH to 7 thousand UAH. The pension funds accumulated for working life will be inherited. It will be good if a person finally has the opportunity to have alternative sources of receiving pension payments,” said the Minister.
According to the Pension Fund, there are more than 11.1 million pensioners in Ukraine. Half board – 3,538.9 UAH
According to government forecasts, in 15 years there will be twice as many retirees in Ukraine as the working population, and the state will not be able to pay them pensions.
