On Tuesday, March 2, the High Council of Justice removed Artur Yemelyanov from the post of judge of the High Economic Court of Ukraine.
As reported on the SCJ website, the reason for this decision was the commission by Yemelyanov of a significant disciplinary offense, gross or systematic negligence of duties, which is incompatible with the status of judge.
In June 2018, the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the SCJ concluded that, while serving as Chairman of the Council of Judges of Economic Courts of Ukraine and Deputy Head of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, Judge Yemelyanov, in his official position, had undue influence on the impartiality of the judges of the Kiev City Economic Court, and by incentive and pressure He interfered in the process of conducting a judicial process by a judge of the Kiev Economic Court in cases that were in his process in the period until 2014, in which, as he pointed out, there is a “matter of state”.
“The actions of Judge Yemelyanov in the period from 2013 to 2014 inclusive indicate his interference in the process of conducting legal proceedings by a judge of the Kiev City Economic Court, the decision of specific court cases, obstruction of the administration of justice by the courts for reasons determined by law, pressure on judges for incitement, threats, blackmail and other unlawful influences, “says the message.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, Emelyanov, through proxies and dummies, in particular, bought commercial real estate in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
Commercial structures controlled by a judge regularly paid taxes to the invaders. One of its premises housed a subdivision of the “DPR central bank.”
In 2018, law enforcement officers searched the homes and offices of Yemelyanov and other defendants in the case. Documents and information media that may indicate the involvement of cybercriminals in the financing of terrorism were seized.
In addition, more than $ 200,000, more than € 11,000 and more than 230,000 hryvnia were seized from the defendants. According to one of the addresses of the accused in the case, intelligence agents found the judge in person.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, the Commission for High Qualification of Judges was unable to make a decision on Yemelyanov since March 2018.
