To defeat the coronavirus as soon as possible, measures must be more effective, and not just in rich countries. This opinion was expressed by the American billionaire philanthropist, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, in an interview with CNN reporters.
According to the billionaire, the world “will not be able to defeat the coronavirus pandemic before 2022” because current measures “are not enough to end the pandemic.”
At the same time, Gates called the rapid development of vaccines and the deployment of immunization a miracle.
He suggested that the United States could return to a situation almost before the coronavirus in the fall of 2021, but to defeat the virus, it is necessary to make a greater contribution to the global fight against COVID-19 and distribute the vaccine.
Then, Gates pointed out that now the drug is received mainly by economically developed countries. The billionaire’s charitable foundation is concerned about this problem.
The Microsoft founder added that his foundation is creating additional businesses to boost vaccine production. According to him, a billion dollars should be invested in this area.
