The Ukrainian side commented on the report on the case of the downed UIA plane

Changes made by the Ukrainian side to the Iranian document remain confidential.

Ukraine sent comments and suggestions to Iran on Tehran’s report on the plane crash Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), which was mistakenly shot down over the Iranian capital in January last year. This was announced on Friday, February 26, by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Yevhen Yenin, on Facebook.

According to him, the data of the Ukrainian project remains confidential.

“We hope that the Iranian side will fully take into account Ukraine’s comments and consequently finalize the text of the final report of the technical investigation,” Yenin said, adding that Ukraine has fully complied with its obligations under international law.

Earlier in January, Iran, on the fifth attempt, submitted to Ukraine a report on the causes of the UIA plane crash. Ukraine had 60 days to make comments and suggestions.

Now Tehran should finalize the document within a month.

Not by mistake? New data on the attack on the UIA aircraft

Recall that on January 8, 2020, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft of the Ukrainian airline UIA was shot down by two missiles fired by the Iranian army. The plane has just taken off from Tehran airport and is heading to Kiev. On board were 167 passengers and 9 crew members, all of whom died.
