15-time Major Series golf winner Tiger Woods was involved in an accident on February 23 in California at 7:15 am local time.
According to ESPN, citing Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg, the famous golfer has multiple broken legs.
“He is currently undergoing surgery. We thank everyone for their support and ask that his privacy be respected,” Steinberg said.
Woods had to be pulled from the car with Jaws of Life tools, the Los Angeles County sheriff said in a statement. The car was seriously damaged.
The station’s helicopter showed the scene of Woods’ crash. The video shows a car lying on its side with a badly damaged front end. The airbags are seen to have deployed. The wreck was located near the road on the hillside.
Woods was the only passenger in the car, the sheriff’s office said.
