In response, Khomchak emphasized that he refrains from making unfounded statements, while there are no exact facts.
“When there are dead, there will be a message. They are still pulling out deeper dugouts, they just can’t open and get there. There was a fire in the dugout, it burned and burned for a long time. We started to open it. Yesterday, we couldn’t, today they are opening, “he said.
Khomchak also said that it was impossible to hide a single loss in the Ukrainian army during the war. “There is a family, there is a grave, there is a funeral, there is a procedure,” he said and expressed his wish, “that there is no hint that someone is hiding some losses.”
Defense Minister Andriy Taran added that he faced a similar situation during a fire in the Lugansk region, when there was also a delay in reporting the death of a soldier.
“Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have the authority to conduct a pre-trial investigation. One soldier died, and that’s it, we stopped there. In these cases, the military stand aside and await the arrival of law enforcement agencies to investigate. This is the most frequent reason for the delay, “he explained.
According to Taran, in This year, a draft bill on the military police was drawn up, which grants this body the right to pre-trial instruction.
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not publish official information about the fire at the positions of the Ukrainian army in Donbass and its motives.
